Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire and Exploring PA

The first thing Joey and I did when we got to the Faire was get Pierogies, of course, because the Ren Faire has the best pierogies in the world. While eating Joey was messing with the camera to try and figure it out and he took this picture of me that I actually really like, so I'm putting it here.

We also played a few games and collected pirate coins, which we're saving for better prizes on our next trip.

Joey decided to take advantage of being 21 and drank at the Pirate Ship. We're pretty upset that the pirates aren't coming back this year, if at all. I usually buy my swords from the ship and I'm pretty bummed that the shop is gone.

This guy was super cool. He did a bunch of juggling tricks and he ate fire. He was super funny and he’s from Italy. His name is Paolo and other than the magician they also have at the Ren Faire, this guy is probably one of my favorites now. Totally going to see him again during the next trip.

We also saw a blacksmith demonstration which was equal parts really cool and really boring. The guy was pretty entertaining but watching someone beat things with a hammer isn't all that interesting, unless it's the scene in the hobbit where Thorin makes his sword, because anything Lord of the Rings is interesting to me.
Joey actually took some really cool pictures that I’ll probably post somewhere later in life.

There’s also this really cool picture I took that I love a lot. I don’t really have much to say about it I just think it’s adorable.

Exploring Pennsylvania
So, after we left the Faire, we decided to go and find somewhere to get food. We didn’t really look anything up we just drove around until we found this little town called Mt. Gretna. There was a cute little fair thing going on there so we pulled over and walked around. They had a little play house that was an indoor/outdoor theater and being the technical theater nerd/student that I am, I was fascinated.
Sadly, all of my pictures of the theater came out super dark because the lights were off and it was really shady.

Then we found a scary looking pizza place and I got locked in the bathroom there for about ten minutes which was even scarier so we decided against eating there. We went down another little side street and found a lake/beach in the middle of the mountains of PA. It was the craziest thing, so we went inside and we actually went kayaking. It was really fun and way easier than I expected so I’m even more excited to kayak when we go to New Zealand in May.

Sorry about the weird nature of this post, hopefully I find a better way to do these soon.
